Find Your Niche

September 1st by Robyn Baldwin 0 Comments

I haven’t written a career tip in a while and I’ve been tackling a new challenge at work so I was brainstorming w/ the boy and he suggested the niche topic.

So I’m crazy busy at work right now and am very direct and to the point. I’ve been told that can be intimidating so I’ve been thinking hard about how I can fix that. At all my other agencies I’ve always been the baker. That was my niche to get to know coworkers and be approachable. I would bake every Sunday and bring in the goodies on Monday. This gave me an excuse to invite coworkers over to my desk or walk around and hand out the goodies. I love cooking for people and now I can bake healthy treats for the agency. I haven’t had a chance to really do so yet at my “new” agency (I’ve been here 7 months now). I baked lemon cupcakes a couple of weeks ago and it went over fairly well. So now I’ve got to get some really healthy treats on my repertoire.

Whether you are the baker or the go-to person to go for coffee with or the lottery ticket buyer, etc find that niche.

Go back to your Kindergarden roots and remember it’s best to play well with others.
