Alpha Female Friday – Marni Wasserman

Every Friday I am going to feature a woman that I adore. They exude all the qualities of an Alpha Female and I want to dig into their lives to get some nuggets of knowledge to help us all live happier, healthier lives balancing life & work.

Definition of an Alpha Female

An Alpha Female is a powerful and assertive woman. Her confidence is due to being an intelligent and intellectual problem-solver. Being an Alpha Female is a State of Mind based on choosing ambition and being proud of it. She strives for a happy and healthy work/life harmony.

She is the brightest star in her constellation.  When an Alpha Female stays true to their authentic selves and their missions they shine.  An Alpha Female puts herself first. She knows that work/life harmony is found by staying true to your priorities and what makes you happy. She is never complacent about striving for better and nurtures relationships with all the people in her life.

Meet Marni Wasserman!

Simply said, Marni Wasserman’s life is rooted in healthy living. Not only a nutritionist and chef but also the co-host of The Ultimate Health Podcast. She is also the Author of Fermenting for Dummies and Plant-Based Diet For Dummies. Marni uses passion and experience to educate individuals on how to adopt a realistic real food diet and a balanced wholesome lifestyle through simple strategies.

What do you think of the definition and how are you an Alpha Female? 

An Alpha female is someone is confident and comfortable in her own skin. She is passionate and leads others in a way to both inspire and be inspired.

What does work/life harmony look like for you? 

Finding time to take of myself every day so that I can make sure that I show up and perform at my best. I am avid on my morning routine – without that (or any part of that) my days would not be as strong or productive.

Share with us a time when work/life balance was out of whack? What was your aha moment that taught you it was ok to take care of yourself first?

Before moving outside the big city of Toronto, I had no balance or very little balance in the morning to take care of myself. I promised myself as soon as I move out of the city, I would make sure my morning routine was top priority!

What are you most passionate about?

Eating and living a balanced life. As I have evolved, I love to learn about what will help me to thrive and always excited to share this with my community. I am also passionate about building and maintaining a strong community.

How do you nourish yourself? 

With real whole foods, high-quality fats, lots of greens and colourful foods. I have made the switch from veg to Paleo and my body is responding very well 🙂

What is your weekly fitness routine like?

Running, yoga, biking, kettlebells, I like to vary it depending on what I am feeling, the weather or my energy.

What are your daily habits for winding down at night and reducing stress?

Dim lights, reading, watching Netflix and petting my puppy Goji

What are some pain points of being an Alpha Female that you have to problem solve for?

I think when it comes to managing others – or even working in a team you learn a lot about yourself and how you show up, show authority, delegate etc. These are always tough and you have to learn as you go. Which can sometimes be difficult, as you figuring things out as you go along.

What is your definition of happiness?

Feeling a sense of freedom and peacefulness. A deep knowing that I not only love myself but that I am taken care of now matter what (not worry about future or the past).
