Favourite Essential Oils While Traveling

I’ve been traveling a lot in the past few years!

Vancouver, Victoria & TofinoAlberta, Patagonia and Mallorca (Part 1 & Part 2)!

While I’ve been crossing more places & countries off my travel bucket list I’ve got a few key oils that are always in my purse, carry-on or suitcase.

My non-negotiable is OnGuard Beadlets! They are so easy to throw in your purse. I will pop 1 of these a day. They even came with me in my pack while hiking in Patagonia.

My next oil is DigestZen. Because I’m not always in control of my food I may eat something that I’m not used to or doesn’t sit well with me. I can apply this “neat” (without a carrier oil) directly to my belly to help with bloating or gas but you can also add this to fractionated coconut oil (or another carrier oil) and rub all over your belly 🙂

I usually deal with seasonal allergies. But I get set off by dust, mold or mildew so I also travel with Breathe to help with respiration. I usually also travel with a diffuser if I’m staying in a hotel so I can diffuse this at night or first thing in the morning 🙂 Otherwise I just apply this neat right under my nose or on my chest.

Last but not least is the Swiss Army Knife of Oils. I always bring Lavender for calming (in the diffuser at night) but this can be applied to sunburns to bug bites or scrapes so this is always in my travel kit!

Where are you off to next? Will you be traveling with oils?

  1. Kind of surprised you would use something containing carrageenan. I find it super hypocritical that “wellness” bloggers shill their “health products” and vilify “toxins” without awareness of the whole picture. “A little learning is a dangerous thing…”

  2. Carrageenan is a natural fiber extracted from seaweed. It is used as a thickening agent in doTERRA vegetarian softgels. Seaweed and seaweed fiber are used safely and extensively throughout the world and have well-established safety records supported by numerous clinical studies. Carrageenan is GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe), approved for use by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the U.S., by the European Parliament and Council, by the Joint World health Organization and by the Food and Agriculture Organization Expert Committee on Food Additives.
doTERRA only uses long chain carrageenan molecules in our products, which have been shown to be safe. Carrageenan is simply a type of fiber that is not digested or absorbed by the intestinal tract. It is therefore unable enter the blood stream by ingestion. doTERRA only uses very small amounts of carrageenan, far below a level that would cause harm.
Carrageenan is a very safe ingredient. In-long term bioassays, carrageenan has not been found to be carcinogenic. The only case where carrageenan caused problems was when it was injected into the blood stream of animals. No carrageenan enters the blood through the digestive tract in humans because it is not digested or absorbed. doTERRA is not concerned with the use of this ingredient, and this conclusion is based on strong scientific evidence.
